Jesus creative practice includes drawing, painting, acting and mural design, to name a few. Since joining the Cultural Education Center for the Arts, Jesus has approached his work by authoring his path. His dedication and appreciation of sports from hockey to soccer are evident in his disciplined approach to art-making. Jesus’ work ranges from figurative forms to abstract shapes, often “documenting” his goals and desires by drawing them on paper.
His work is engaging, colorful, lively, imaginative and energetic. He embraces his roots by weaving cultural context to the visual stories he documents in his paintings and drawings. When asked what making art means to him he simply said, "Art helps me." Jesus loves to eat his mom’s homemade tamales and is known to prioritize family vacations on a regular basis. Jesus lives and works in Los Angeles.
